BAD HAIR UPROOTED - is a photo montage celebrating the beauty of Black Follicles while shining a light on the social injustice of unequal hair rights. Natural hairstyles like Dreadlocks, Cornrows and Afros are pictured to change the stereotypical perception of African strands. Photographer is Drs. Mireille Liong-A-Kong author of Going Natural, How to Fall in Love with Nappy hair and founder of going-natural.com and Shampoo for Locs, Detox for Dreadlocks and the Magic Dress .
After an international tour displaying in Paramaribo, Suriname and Paris, France, the Natural Hairstyles exhibition BAD Hair Uprooted is back home in New York and I am happy to invite you to come to the opening, have a glass of wine and enjoy the q&a and artist talk.
